Description

The America’s Cup is the most famous trophy in the sport of sailing, as well as the oldest sporting trophy in the world to compete for in the 21st century. It is a series of match racing, that is, between only two yachts competing against each other. The two yachts belong to two different yacht clubs, one representing the holder of the trophy (defender) and the other a challenging yacht club (challenger); the latter is in turn designated through a series of races between various contenders.
